FOR WHAT PURPOSES DO WE PROCESS YOUR DATA:

E-newsletter

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our monthly e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp privacy notice.

Security and performance

Attention Media uses a third party service to help maintain the security and performance of the Attention Media website. To deliver this service it processes the IP addresses of visitors to the ICO website.

WordPress

We use a third-party service, WordPress.org, to publish our blog and some of our conference microsites. These sites are hosted at Siteground.  We use a standard WordPress service to collect anonymous information about users’ activity on the site, for example, the number of users viewing pages on the site, to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site and help us improve it. CONTACTING ATTENTION MEDIA VIA SOCIAL MEDIA

We use a third-party provider, Hootsuite, to manage our social media interactions.

If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message will be sorted on our social media channels or scheduling platform for up to 30 days from your date of sending. It will not be shared by any other organisations and you are free to send us another message at any time unless stated otherwise.

 

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED:

We store your data on secure servers in the European Economic Area (EEA) (except for data that we gather when you sign up for our email alerts).

By submitting your personal data, you agree to this.

 

HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR DATA:

Information that we collect will not be kept for longer than is necessary for the relevant processing purpose. We will retain your Information for a minimum period of one day following receipt and for a maximum period of (i) the time, you are a user with an account or (ii) ten years, whichever is longer. Notwithstanding the previous sentence, we may retain your Information when such retention is necessary for compliance with legal obligations, the protection of your vital interests, or the vital interests of another person.

WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO OUR EMAIL ALERTS:

We use the Mailchimp Delivery platform, for our email alerts.

As a subscriber to our email newsletter, we may contact you from time to time to inform you of company updates or interesting marketing information, we will also provide clear opt-out instructions at the base of all marketing email communications should you wish not to receive communication from us in future.

As a data processor on behalf of Attention Media, MailChimp will use your information to send you email alerts if you request them. You can find out more about how MailChimp collects and stores your information here.

 

KEEPING YOUR DATA SECURE:

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit.  Any data you send is at your own risk.

We have robust procedures and security features compliant with the GDPR in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.

 

DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION:

We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or if we must enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements. This includes exchanging information with other government departments for legal reasons.

We won’t share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes, and we don’t pass on your details to other websites.
